Burrup (MURUJUGA) Heritage Tour, Australian Rock Art

Friends of Australian Rock Art (FARA) are pleased to announce their 5th annual tour to the Burrup peninsula outside Karratha to view the rock art of this world-renowned archaeological site.

 

Experience the majestic wonders of the Burrup – over a million petroglyphs dating back 30,000 years – the oldest and largest rock art gallery in the world!

 

It is far older than Stonehenge, the Pyramids and the Lascaux Caves and contains a continuous record of mankind’s development both pre and post the last Ice Age, as well as the oldest known depictions of the human face on the planet!

 

Dates : 23-30 July 2011

 

Cost : $1,750 – which includes return travel by air-conditioned bus, motel accommodation en route, camping equipment, all meals, informative tours plus an orientation evening.

 

Deposit : $150 – required immediately, final payment due 10 June 2011.
